Got Hurt? Get Gibbons!

Because we hate losing more than we love winning!

Proof is in the Pudding - Our Knowledge and Dedication Get Things Done

Most law firms brag about their biggest recoveries, but these big recoveries don’t tell you the true nature of the case or the legal skill required to lock down the win. If someone is killed in a car accident clearly caused by the defendant, who has a million dollars in available insurance coverage, does the case require a lot of legal skill and know-how? Does it require an aggressive, hard-nosed litigator?

Rather than brag about our biggest recoveries, we feel it more important to brag about some of our most difficult victories; victories that required legal skill and know-how coupled with aggressive, hard-nosed representation. After all, you don’t want to know how well we handled the easy cases. You want to know how well we handled the difficult cases.

$235,000 (Settlement) - Car Accident in Montgomery County, PA

$235,000 settlement for two motorists who suffered numerous broken bones when another car forced their car off the road and directly into a 100-year-old tree. The defense initially argued that one of my clients caused the accident by speeding and illegally passing the defendant driver on the right, but we were able to disprove this argument with the defendant driver’s own testimony and the help of an accident reconstructionist.

$225,000 (Settlement) - Truck Accident in Montgomery County, PA

$225,000 settlement for Norristown woman who suffered post traumatic stress disorder after she was rear-ended by a tractor trailer.

$210,000 (Verdict) - Fall on Sidewalk in Philadelphia County, PA

$210,000 verdict for woman who injured her back when she stepped in a uncovered 6” drain pipe in broad daylight. The defense did not offer to settle the case before trial, arguing my client should have seen (and avoided) the uncovered pipe, and that my client’s injuries were not caused by the fall. The case was a featured story in Pennsylvania Law Weekly and Verdict Search: Pennsylvania.

$205,000 (Settlement) - Work Accident in Berks County, PA

$205,000 settlement for a Fed Ex driver who inured his back delivering a package in Reading, PA.

$200,000 (Verdict) - Car Accident in Cumberland County, NJ

$200,000 verdict for a 20-year old woman who suffered facial scaring when the car in which she was a passenger t-boned a pickup truck that ran a stop sign. My client was thrown forward into the windshield because she was not wearing her seatbelt – a violation of New Jersey law – because of which the defense argued my client caused her own injuries (i.e., she would not have suffered the injuries had she worn a seatbelt). The highest pre-verdict settlement offer was only $40,000.

$175,000 (Settlement) - Fall at Apartment Complex in Montgomery County, PA

$175,000 settlement for a 45-year old woman who slipped on ice in the parking lot of her apartment complex just hours after a snow storm ended. The parking lot had already been plowed, but, because the storm had only just ended, property management had not yet had an opportunity to salt. My client, overcome by cabin fever, broke her arm when slipped and fell as she left the building for what she hoped to be a nice walk in the fresh winter wonderland. This case was particularly difficult as we had to overcome substantial issues of my client’s own negligence as well as issues with the defendant’s having insufficient time to salt the parking lot.

$150,000 (Settlement) - Fall on Sidewalk in Philadelphia County, PA

$150,000 settlement for a Philadelphia woman who injured her knee when she slipped on wet leaves while walking down exterior steps at a Philadelphia hospital.

$150,000 (Settlement) - Fall on Sidewalk in Philadelphia County, PA

$150,000 settlement for an 11-year old Philadelphia boy who broke his leg when he tripped on a cracked sidewalk covered by leaves.

$150,000 (Settlement) - Fall at Apartment Complex in Montgomery County, PA

$150,000 settlement for a Norristown woman who slipped on ice in the parking lot of her sister’s apartment complex the morning after a snow storm.  The parking lot had already been plowed, but we were able to prove the plowing was negligently done as the snow was pushed uphill, where it later melted, causing it to flow back down the hill and refreeze once the temperature dropped.  This case was particularly difficult as we had to overcome substantial issues of my client’s own negligence as her boyfriend showed her the ice just moments before she slipped on it.  This case settled just days before trial was scheduled to begin.

$150,000 (Settlement) - Motorcycle Accident in Delaware County, PA

$150,000 settlement for a passenger on a motorcycle who suffered a broken foot and some leg and hand scarring when she was thrown from the back of the motorcycle after it rear-ended a car.
